David Birley (Also known as “Dave the Osteo”) was one of the first graduates from Victoria University’s 5 year Osteopathic program 24 years ago. He did this after completing a bachelor of science majoring in biochemistry and physiology.
He was the first Osteopath in Australia to undertake all courses in Clinical Pilates and opened New Zealand’s 3rd Pilates studio.
He is always trying to improve or discover ways of improving his ability to help people, which has led him down a path that includes undertaking study in:
- Clinical Pilates
- Primal Movement Patterns
- Specific Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)
- Dry Needling (GEMT)
- Anatomy in Motion (AiM)
- Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR)
- Neuro Kinetic Therapy (NKT)
- Applied Movement Neurology (AMN)
A lot of acronyms really!! The combination of the above gives David a very broad background in diagnosis, treatment & management of multiple presenting complaints.
